I’m still alive! Whew, I think that was the longest break I’ve taken from blogging since I started Well Sewn Style back in November 2016 (my bloggiversary was on 11/21, how time flies!) Since starting my own business, my etsy shop, expanding my class offerings and entrepreneurship in general I’ve been overwhelmed to say the least. Honestly, entrepreneurship is the hardest thing I’ve ever set out to do in my lifetime (and that’s a post for another day).
Between all the hustle and bustle, my family and I did manage to take an hour or so to have our photos taken for the holidays. Our dear friend Adam, and incredible photographer, was kind enough to meet us at Valley Forge National Park to take some quick photos. Adam has three kids of his own so he knows how to wrangle little ones to cooperate, smile and have fun. You can see more pics from the shoot here!
We managed to get some great photos in less than 30 minutes. Adam made sure to capture 100% of Alice’s sass and let Alex ham it up. And thanks to Adam’s photographic magic I may even get a holiday card together in time (and that’s a big maybe, even Adam’s skills can’t help me get organized.)
Of course I’m wearing my all time favorite skirt (must make another wool circle skirt STAT!), a basic black turtleneck, Frye boots and an old Calvin Klein wool coat that I will be refashioning soon! (Stay tuned for that post). I didn’t really think too hard about making sure our family outfits “coordinated” instead I just made sure we didn’t clash. Alex and I in black coats and Alice in a white fuzzy sweater was the perfect combination.
Alice is now obsessed with snowballs! (And she’s got quite the arm for a three year old.)
I hope you all are taking time for yourselves this holiday season. I know as makers we tend to want to make ALL.THE.THINGS come holiday time (and I am totally guilty of this). Just make sure you’re making time for you. (And sometimes you’ve got to let Etsy do the heavy lifting 😉
Happy sewing and styling!
